A standoff with police ended peacefully after SWAT officers arrived Tuesday in southwest Dallas.
Police were called to serve arrest warrants at a home in the 1200 block of Castle Street at about 1 p.m.
The suspect, Van Gilbert, 53, refused to come outside but surrendered shortly after SWAT officers arrived, police said.
Gilbert is charged with two counts of indecency with a child in a case that dates back to 1997, police said.
The reported offenses allegedly occurred when the victim – then 14 years old – was enrolled at Gilbert's dance studio, Mahogany Dance Theatre of Texas, according to police.
Gilbert is jailed on a total of $200,000 bond.
