An officer has resigned from the Dallas Police Department after he was arrested Sunday and charged with driving while intoxicated and evading on foot.
Dallas police officer Aaron Rodarte was arrested by Highland Park police.
Rodarte joined the Dallas Police Department in April 2013 and was assigned to the department's South Central Patrol Division.
He had been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation into the arrest but submitted his resignation Wednesday.
