Police said they arrested a person driving the vehicle of a 71-year-old woman who was found dead inside her Dallas home Wednesday morning.
Dallas police said they found the body of Norma "Rae" Kakacek at the home in the 7300 block of Paldao Drive at 10:53 a.m. Investigators said there were signs of homicidal violence, but no visible signs of forced entry.
Thursday, the medical examiner confirmed Kakacek was stabbed to death.
Her's 2005 gray Lexus RX330 SUV was missing from the home, according to authorities.
A witness saw Kakacek's SUV being driven from the home and followed the vehicle until losing it in traffic. Police said they located the SUV and arrested the person driving. One other person in the SUV was taken to police headquarters.
Officers ask that anyone with information about this incident call Det. White at 214-671-3690 or Crime Stoppers at 214-373-8477 (TIPS).
Kakacek's son told NBC 5 he found his mother dead Wednesday morning.
"A woman that would have given the shirt off her back for anyone in need was brutally executed for things that weren't worth hardly any money," Scott Kakacek said.
