Man Wanted in Connection with Sister's Boyfriend's Fatal Shooting
A murder warrant has been issued after Samer Hamdan was fatally shot in Grand Prairie Wednesday night.  Police are looking for 21-year-old Edward Gutierrez in connection with the shooting. According to police, Hamdan was dating Gutierrez's sister and an argument between the two led to the shooting on the 1700 block of Coffeyville. Witnesses were attempting to stop the bleeding when officers and medical personnel arrived.  Hamdan was transported to Medical Center of Arlington where he later died. Gutierrez was said to have fled the scene in a red 2008 Chrysler 300 with Texas license plate DZB-393. Gutierrez is still at large and anyone who knows his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (972) 988-8477 or the Grand Prairie “Tip Line” at (972) 237-8877.

Mom Arrested After Child Pulled from Hot Vehicle
Jessica Liston, 21, was arrested Tuesday after leaving her child locked in a hot car while she shopped at a north Fort Worth Wal-Mart, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. A passer-by spotted the child in the hot car and broke the window to rescue her.  Liston, who told police she thought the child was with her mother who was also shopping with her, is free after posting $2,500 bond. 

Father Jailed in Death of 4-Month-Old Boy
At one month old, Jayden Farrington was hospitalized with two skull fractures -- that investigation was ongoing.  On Wednesday, responding to a call, officers arrived again at Jayden's home to find him not breathing, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.  The 4-month-old later was transported to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, where he later died.  Officers then arrested Jason A. Farrington, 25, the boy's father, on suspicion of injury to a child.  Farrington remains in the custody of the Arlington police.

SMU Gas Break Prompts Emergency Warning
An apparent gas line break has forced Southern Methodist University security to keep everyone inside as a precaution. According to SMU, the leak is on the east side of the Binkley Garage, near Airline Road and Binkley Avenue. Repair crews are on site and the public is urged to avoid the area.

Cabbie Shot During Carjacking
A Dallas cab driver is recovering in the hospital after being shot during a carjacking Wednesday morning.  Police said three men carjacked the driver when he pulled into the Rush Creek Apartments on the 2500 block of Community.  At some point the driver was shot and left for dead by the attackers.  Police later found the man  with a gunshot wound to his back and he was rushed to Parkland Hospital in Dallas in serious condition. The cab was found only a few blocks away.

5-Year-Old Drowns in Community Pool
A five-year old girl drowned in a Plano community pool on Tuesday evening.  The Plano Fire Department was called to the pool on the 4700-block of Blackshear Trail at about 8:45 p.m. The child was transported to the Medical Center of Plano where she was declared dead shortly after 9:00 p.m.  The child is the second to drown this week and officials are urging parents to use extra caution when around water.

Boy Drowns in Arlington Pool
Damion Degante-Salazar, 21-months-old, had been swimming with family and friends Tuesday night when everyone got out of the pool and apparently inadvertantly left him alone outside, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.  The boy's mother searched for her child, including the 3-foot-deep pool he was in previously, but was not able to locate him.  He was not found until later when his body floated to the surface.  The Tarrant County Medical Examiner has ruled Damion's death an accident and officers do not expect to pursue criminal charges. 

Woman Killed in Crash on I-35E
A 52-year-old woman was died Wednesday after an afternoon car crash on Interstate 35E in Carrollton. The victim was parked on the shoulder when her car and another car were struck by a passing big-rig.  The semi then struck a concrete retainer wall and caught fire.  The woman and driver of the big-rig were both transported to Parkland Hospital in Dallas.  The woman later died and the big-rig driver remains in critical condition.

Man Gets in Car Crash After Being Shot
An Arlington man found himself in a traffic accident while trying to drive to the hospital after being shot.  Arlington police are investigating the shooting and there is currently no word on his condition.

Wind Causes Light Tower to Collapse
A light tower collapsed in The Stockyards Wednesday where organizers were assembling an arena for the Red Bull Motorcoss competition this Saturday. The wind knocked the tower onto the bleachers as rain moved through the Metroplex.  No injuries were reported in the collapse.

Experimental Plane Veers of Runway
A small, homebuilt aircraft piloted by an elderly man veered off the runway at Midway Airport in Waxahachie Wednesday afternoon.  The plane ended up damaged and in the grass.  The pilot was only shaken up a little.  The FAA is investigating.
