Cuban's SEC Case Draws Inspector General's Attention

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that the SEC inspector general is looking into misconduct allegations filed by Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban's lawyers.

The inspector general began his investigation after receiving complaings from Cuban's lawyers, according to a report released to Congress on Monday.

According to the WSJ, the report didn't name Cuban outright, but a person familiar with the case said it involved Cuban.

Attorneys for Cuban filed a lawsuit last week alleging that the SEC didn't properly respond to his Freedom of Information Act requests seeking documents on SEC investigations involving him.

The SEC sued Cuban last November, claiming he traded shares of after receiving inside information. 

Cuban denied the allegation.
