Cruz Super PAC Prepares for Millions of Dollars in TV Ads

A well-funded outside group supporting Texas Sen. Ted Cruz's run for the Republican presidential nomination has purchased $2.5 million of television ads.

The super PAC is called Keep the Promise I. Its new ads begin Tuesday in the leadoff primary state of Iowa, and next week in third-to-vote South Carolina.

The ads come as Cruz appears to be picking up steam in the still-crowded primary.

The commercials supplement other efforts by four super PACs that use the name "Keep the Promise."

Together, those groups have raised $37 million to help Cruz.

The message of the new ad echoes Cruz's campaign theme that he has stood up to Democrats and Republicans. It includes clips of Cruz at some of his own campaign appearances, and features people asserting he can be trusted.
