Change of Venue Requested in Christina Morris Kidnapping Case

A Collin County judge granted a continuance in the trial of the man suspected of kidnapping 23-year-old Christina Morris.

The June 6 trial has been moved to September 12. It's the second time the trial date has been pushed back.

"It's just insane, you know what I mean? I'm at a loss for words," Morris' mother, Jonni McElroy, said as she left the courthouse Thursday.

Enrique Arochi's defense team argued it needs more time to go through records and videos it received last week. That includes about 450 tips that Plano police received related to Morris' case, tips the defense may argue were not thoroughly investigated.

Arochi's attorneys also filed a change of venue motion. That request was not ruled on Thursday. It will likely be decided on next month.

Arochi is accused of kidnapping Morris from The Shops at Legacy in August 2014.

Morris remains missing.
