Campaign and Poll Workers Saw ‘Lackluster’ Election Day Turnout in Dallas County

By the time polls were closing, the county’s 9.83% unofficial turnout roughly matched what the county expected

Election Day dragged along for poll workers and campaigners at polling sites Saturday, with voter turnout just shy of 10% for Dallas County’s municipal elections.

Most of the county’s voters cast ballots early — there were about 74,400 early voters compared to just under 54,900 Election Day voters.
