Woman Kicked Off American Eagle Flight After Refusing to Turn Off Cell Phone

Woman rebooked on a later flight

A woman who refused to turn off her cellphone was taken off an American Eagle flight headed to Dallas from Santa Fe.

American Eagle spokesman Ed Martelle said the woman was asked three times to turn off the cell and put it away, and she chose not to.

He added she was rebooked on another flight Thursday.

Martelle told the Santa Fe New Mexican he could not disclose the name of the woman because of passenger privacy issues.

Santa Fe police Capt. Aric Wheeler said his officers did respond to the incident, but by the time they reached the airport, it was squared away. Officers did not have contact with the passenger.
