Gladewater police say a woman died after being hit by an Amtrak train as she tried to walk across the tracks.
Police Chief Farrell Alexander says the 36-year-old Crystilla Houston of Gladewater was struck Tuesday night and was dead at the scene.
Alexander says the warning signals were working at the intersection. Nobody on the eastbound train was injured.
Gladewater is about 100 miles southeast of Dallas.
