A man covered in blood told someone at an Irving apartment complex office on Friday that he had just killed his wife.
Police found the unidentified man suffering from lacerations to the wrists and throat at the Island West Apartments in the 2700 block of West Rock Island Road.
Officers were able to follow a blood trail from the manager’s office to an apartment in the complex were they found the victim, Anna Luisa Martinez, 32, dead. The victim suffered a stab wound to the chest.
The suspect was placed in custody and taken to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he was undergoing surgery.
