Student With Down Syndrome Crowned Homecoming Queen

Student Plans To Wear Crown For 'Long Time To Come'

There wasn't a dry eye in the stadium last weekend when the Aledo Bearkats crowned a student with Down syndrome their new homecoming queen.

People in Aledo will tell you that 18-year-old Kristin Pass is the kind of girl who only sees the good in people and that she's friends with everyone at her school.

This past weekend her friends showed her just how grateful they are for her friendship by crowning her homecoming queen.

Pass has been a part of the Aledo Independent School District since she was in the 3rd grade. Even though she was born with Down syndrome, she's always been just another one of the students.

Pass' sister Kendall said the honor was an overwhelming show of friendship from the student body and that it was very special moment for her sister.

Pass said people should get used to seeing her in a crown and that she plans to wear it for a long time to come.
