Store Owner Sees Burglary On Camera, Drives to Store to Stop

Man said this was 31st or 32nd burglary attempt

The owner of a shoe store in Dallas watched surveillance video as a man drove a car into his store, then began stealing shoes Thursday morning.

Bacon Eunice said this was the 31st or 32nd burglary attempt. He showed NBC 5 several places where thieves had tried to cut through walls and fences to get inside the store to steal expensive name-brand shoes.

This morning, Eunice watched at about 2 a.m. as the thief drove his car into a side wall of the store, Outlet Sport Shoes at the corner of Interstate 35 and Ledbetter.

He said he got in his car, drove to the store and rammed his vehicle into the thief's vehicle to stop him from getting away. The thief was able to drive off.

That vehicle was found a few blocks away. Eunice said he saw one man arrested.

The inside of the store was severely damaged, but they will be able to reopen the store, Eunice said.
