Several Area Boat Ramps Close Due to High Water

It wasn't that long ago that low lake levels and receding shorelines closed boat ramps in North Texas. Now, the opposite, where high water has closed boat ramps and parks at several area lakes.

The following information was supplied by The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and local municipalities.

Bardwell

  • The following closures are due to high water:
  • Mott Park sites 7,9,11-14 closed.
  • Waxahachie Creek Park;
  • Horse trail and equestrian sites 86-89 closed
  • Black Forest Sites 72 - 85 closed
  • Site 49 closed
  • All day use, closed, but boat ramp is still open
  • High View site 41 closed.
  • Mustang boat ramp is closed.

Grapevine Lake

  • Twin Coves Park and boat ramp closed

Joe Pool

  • All parks open.

Lavon Lake

  • Ticky Creek Park is closed until further notice. Boat ramp is open. Boat ramp parking lot open.
  • Avalon Park is closed until further notice.
  • Lakeland Park is closed until further notice.
  • Pebble Beach Park is closed until further notice.
  • Caddo Park is closed until further notice.
  • Highland Park is closed until further notice.

Lewisville Lake

  • Hickory Creek Park (campground) - Closed due to high water.
  • Westlake/Oakland Parks (day use areas) - closed due to high water.
  • Doe Branch Access (boat ramp) - closed due to high water.
  • Big Sandy Access (boat ramp) - closed due to high water.
  • Pilot Knoll (boat ramp) - close due to high water, per Highland Village Parks and Rec.
  • Construction is ongoing for western half of Oakland Park and everything West of the boat ramp is closed.

Ray Roberts

  • All parks closed due to high water.

Sam Rayburn

  • *Current Closed Parks/Areas due to high water:
  • - Mill Creek Park, Sites: 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, 26, 32, 41, 56-63, 61, 75, 76, 77, & 87.
  • - Hanks Creek Park, Sites: 16-31, 33, 41 & Hanks Creek Day Use Area/Boat Ramp.
  • - San Augustine Park Site: 2, 3, 34, 36, 38, 40, 41, 42, 43, 61, 62, & 63.
  • - Rayburn Park - Sites 55-65.
