$2,500 Reward Offered for Wise Co. Sheriff's Office K-9 Missing After Storm

Crime Stoppers of Wise County is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for tips leading to the safe return of their missing K-9.

Rayco, a 4-year-old Dutch Shepherd, was in his kennel outside when strong storms moved through North Texas in late October, destroying his kennel.

When Rayco's handler, Wise County Sheriff's Sgt. J.T. Manoushagian, went to check on him, he was nowhere to be found.

Rayco was last seen near the Weatherford College Wise County Campus near the intersection of Farm-to-Market Road 1655 and U.S. Highway 380 between Decatur and Bridgeport.

Extensive searches in the air and on the ground have turned up no sign of Rayco.

The K-9 has been with the sheriff's office for two years.

"He is my partner, he is very much a member of my family and he's a member of the Wise County family," Manoushagian said in October.

There is concern someone may have picked up the dog or welcomed him into their home, not knowing he is a K-9 from the sheriff's office.

If you have information about Rayco's whereabouts or know someone who may have taken him in, please call the Wise County Sheriff's Office at 940-627-5971 or Crime Stoppers of Wise County 811-643-8477 (TIPS).

Crime Stoppers will pay the first most accurate tip received.
