North Texas Officers Trade Cuffs for Aprons Thursday Night

    Police officers from across Dallas-Fort Worth are trading in their handcuffs for serving aprons Thursday night.

    It's part of a fundraising mission for Special Olympics Texas, which serves more than 12,600 North Texas athletes with intellectual disabilities.

    Officers will be serving tables for customers at several Texas Roadhouse restaurant locations between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. All tips collected will benefit SOTX and local athletes.

    Last year, Tip A Cop Night raised a state-wide total of more than $1.4 million.
