NBC Universal Owned Television Stations in Texas Win Big at Lone Star Emmy Awards and Bring Home 51 Awards

NBC and Telemundo-owned stations in Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and the Rio Grande Valley took home top honors and were recognized with the “News Excellence,” “Morning/Daytime” and “Evening” newscasts, and “Community Service” awards

The Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth / KXAS, Telemundo 39 Dallas-Fort Worth / KXTX, Telemundo Houston / KTMD, and Telemundo 40 Rio Grande Valley / KTLM a total of 51 Lone Star Emmy® Awards during the 14th annual awards gala held on Saturday, October 15 in Fort Worth, Texas.
 
Telemundo 39 / KXTX took home 21 awards, including the coveted “News Excellence” honor. NBC 5 / KXAS received 13 awards across various categories, including best “Newscast – Morning/Daytime Newscast,” an honor that KXTX also received. Both stations also won the “Texas Heritage” award.

Additionally, Telemundo Houston / KTMD was recognized with 13 Lone Star Emmy’s, including an award for having the best “Newscast – Evening” in the large market category. Lastly, Telemundo 40 Rio Grande Valley / KTLM won four awards across various categories, including the “Community Service” award that recognized the station’s financial literacy community awareness campaign.
