Students and families of Mesquite ISD are on alert after a man attempted to lure a student into a secluded space Thursday.
Officials said a Wilkinson Middle school student was approached by a man who tried to lure the student to go to a vacant house or alley with him. The incident near the intersection of Northridge and Highland between 3:25 p.m. and 3:45 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
Families of Wilkinson Middle School, Tisinger and Hanby elementary schools were notified by a phone message on Friday morning.
In that message, families were warned to remind children about stranger danger and to be alert of any suspicious individuals.
The man was described as a white male between the ages of 17 and 20 years old, at 5'7"-5'8", has a slender build and short hair, according to school district officials.
