Thousands of workers and students had Monday off to celebrate Memorial Day and remember the men and women killed serving their country.
But students and teachers in the Cedar Hill Independent School District did not have the day off.
Monday was originally scheduled as a holiday for the Cedar Hill ISD, but after the January 28th ice storm, the school district chose to use Memorial Day as a make-up day.
While some parents consider it disrespectful, others said they prefer it to adding another day onto the end of the school year.
The Everman, Birdville and Irving school districts also had weather make-up days on Memorial Day.
