A housekeeper has died after falling six stories in a service elevator shaft in the San Antonio hotel where she was working and federal and state officials are investigating.
Crockett Hotel manager William Brendel said 65-year-old Gloria Rodriguez had worked at the hotel 12 years. Her body was found at the bottom of the elevator shaft Wednesday night.
The San Antonio Express-News reports Friday that police were called after hotel employees heard a loud noise from the elevator shaft but couldn't open the basement elevator doors.
