Fort Worth Police Officer Faces DWI Charge

A Fort Worth police officer has been placed on restricted duty status after he was arrested early Monday in Haltom City on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Carl Duque, 49, of North Richland Hills, was stopped for speeding in his own vehicle in the 5100 block of Northeast Loop 820, according to Haltom City Police, and provided a blood sample.

Duque, who is assigned to the Fort Worth Police Department bike patrol unit, was later released on a $1,000 bond.

He joined the Fort Worth police in 1997 and surrendered his gun and badge pending the outcome of the DWI investigation.

The Fort Worth Police Department said it had been 522 days since the department had an officer arrested on a DWI charge.
