Davis Faces Death After Capital Murder Conviction

A Dallas County jury is hearing more testimony before deciding between death row or life imprisonment without parole for a man convicted of killing his children's baby-sitter.

Penalty phase testimony continues Wednesday in the trial of Franklin Davis. He was found guilty Tuesday of capital murder for killing 16-year-old Shania Gray to silence her from testifying that he raped her.

Davis admitted in court to killing the teen but said he killed her out of revenge and hatred, not to obstruct the sexual assault case that was nearing trial.

Davis also has denied throughout that he raped the girl.
