DPD Patrol Car Struck on Central Overnight Monday

No injuries reported from overnight crash

A Dallas police officer is expected to be OK after someone smashed into his patrol car overnight Monday.

Officers were working on a crash along Central Expressway near Royal Lane overnight when the driver of an SUV slammed into the back of the stopped squad car.

There were no injuries reported in the collision and officials have not said what charges the driver may face.

Earlier in the day, a Mesquite officer was struck from behind while issuing a speeding ticket along Interstate 635 after the driver of a Ford Mustang struck several other motorists in a bizarre series of crashes.  The officer was hospitalized but is expected to be OK.
