7 Sentenced in Armed Robbery of Houston-Area Credit Union

Seven people from Houston have been sentenced to prison for their roles in the 2017 armed robbery of a suburban financial institution.

A federal judge on Friday ordered the longest term - nearly 29 years - for 31-year-old Walter Freeman Jordan. Another man, 27-year-old Johnathon Nico Wise, received a 10-year term over the July 2017 robbery of First Community Credit Union in Katy.

A bank employee was slightly hurt when she was punched in the head by one of the robbers.

Jordan and Wise were convicted of aiding and abetting aggravated bank robbery, while Jordan was also convicted of a firearms count.

Five others who pleaded guilty were sentenced to prison terms ranging from one to nearly 13 years.
