It's Day 9 of the 2017 State Fair of Texas. Here's 5 things you need to know before heading to the fair on Saturday.
- Bring the kids with you today and check out the 2017 State Fair of Texas Youth Cooking Contest. The fun-filled competition is held inside the creative arts competition kitchen and judging happens at 10:30 a.m. There are two age groups and several categories. This is expected to be fun for all ages.
- This next one is for the adults. Check out the daily wine tasting at the State Fair Wine Garden. You can purchase samples by the taste, glass or even the bottle.
- There's also something for the car enthusiast in the group. From 10 a.m. until 6 p.m., you can check out "Big D, Little Birds" in the Classic Corral. This car show features classic Thunderbirds.
- For a musical break, you can stop by the Chevrolet main stage for two performances by Black Rhino Sound Production. Show times are at 12 p.m. & 3 p.m.
- Finally, take the kids over to the Pee Wee Stampede at the Rodeo Ranch Arena. This is where kids can put on a show and mock rodeo events. There's stick horse races and even stick "horse" bulls. No doubt you will be laughing out loud at this event.
