Officers responded to a shooting call on the 4100 block of Metropolitan Avenue at 9:09 p.m. and found two shooting victims among the crowd, according to Dallas Police Department spokeswoman Sr. Cpl. Chinh Weltman.

Police said the shooter and one of the victims were involved in a verbal altercation. The shooter then fired at the intended victim, also hitting a second victim.

Dallas Fire-Rescue responders transported the victims — a 31-year-old male and a 34-year-old female — to a nearby hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

A description of the shooter, who fled the scene before officers arrived, has not been made available and no arrests have been made.
