2 Arrested in 5 Month Old Murder Case

When Fort Worth Police found Hamadi Swei lying facedown on the enclosed side porch at The Hills Apartment complex on Jan. 30, they didn’t immediately know how long he’d been there.  He was in a state of decomposition and had multiple stab wounds on his body.

They also had no leads on who killed him.

Five months later, investigators received information that two people in Warsaw, Va., were overheard talking about the murder of Swei.

Detectives from Fort Worth rushed to Warsaw to look into this unsolved murder case.  They tracked down Duane Haley, 47, and Judy Britton 43 -- the two who police said were overheard talking about killing Swei.

They were quickly able to figure out that Britton worked with Swei and, on Christmas Day, she and Haley went to Swei’s apartment to rob him.   During that robbery, Swei was stabbed.

Britton and Haley were arrested and charged with capital murder.  Thursday they were listed in the Northern Neck Regional Jail in Warsaw on $500,000 bond.
