Fatal Fire Destroys Dallas Home: Firefighters

At least one person is dead and others have been displaced after a fire at a Dallas home Tuesday morning, officials say. [[373820221,C]]

Dallas Fire-Rescue said they were called to a fire at a home on the 1500 block of Dennison Street just before 5 a.m. They extinguished the fire by 5:30 a.m.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner's Office was called to the scene, authorities said.

Relatives told NBCDFW the victim was in her 50s.

The family members said the victim's husband injured himself trying to rescue her. He was transported to Methodist Dallas Medical Center with a hand injury.

Firefighters said Red Cross assistance was requested for three adults.
