Police said a man died and a woman was injured in a crash that shut down Texas 161 in Irving overnight. [[319296791,C]]
Irving police said the woman and a man were in the vehicle that crashed on southbound Texas 161 just past Rochelle Boulevard after midnight Wednesday.
Both people were transported to a hospital following the crash. The man — who was driving — was later pronounced deceased.
Authorities shut down all southbound lanes of Texas 161. The road was reopened just before 4:30 a.m.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
