Stray Dog Becomes Therapy Dog

A once stray dog is on his way to a new life as a therapy dog.

Hercules, a 4-year-old French Mastiff, was rescued Irving's Campion Trails.

Since his rescue he has been working as a campus mascot for the Irving Animal Services.

Soon, he'll start training to become a therapy dog for the elderly.

"He loves people. He likes going places. He's well-behaved. He's so unique-looking that people are drawn to him," said volunteer dog trainer Linda Palma.

Hercules not only looks like the dog who starred in the 1989 Tom Hanks comedy "Turner & Hooch," he earned the nickname "Hooch" after he attended a Summer Safety Fair in June and went for a ride in Irving Police Officer Ryan Turner's squad car.
