Hundreds of North Texans attended a workshop Monday designed to help them tap into federal stimulus money.
The workshop at the Music Hall in Fair Park was sponsored by Rep. Eddie Bernice Johnson.
"We're trying to make people aware of what's available," Johnson said.
Representatives from many different government agencies were on hand to explain how local companies might land some of the billions of dollars in business that the stimulus package is expected to generate.
Among those on hand was Marlon Rollins, CEO of Rollins Construction in Dallas.
"It hopefully means being able to keep people employed and hopefully hire more, " Rollins said.
