The Dallas Cowboys are denying a report published in its own Web site Tuesday afternoon.
The story said said the Cowboys were giving Coach Wade Phillips a three-year contract, but the story disappeared from the Web site a short time after its publication.
Cowboys director of public relations Rich Dalrymple confirmed the article was removed from the site. Dalrymple told NBCDFW.com, "There are no announcements today, and nothing has been finalized."
Cowboys owner Jerry Jones told ESPN that Phillips will return next season. Jones said he is working on an extension for him.
