School's Out for Swine Flu

Mesquite elementary shuts down for remainder of the school year.

The Mesquite ISD decided to close Range Elementary for the remainder of the school year.

The decision came Tuesday afternoon after dozens of students called out sick with the flu.

Dallas County health investigators are working to determine if the students were sickened by the swine flu.

The decision was made in order to halt the spread of the illness.

Report cards for students attending Range Elementary will be mailed the week of June 8, 2009.

Student school supplies may be picked up and textbooks and library books may be returned on the following dates and times:

Friday, June 5 from 8 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Saturday, June 6 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Monday, June 8 - Thursday, June 11 from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. - 5 p.m.
