Matchmaking With Dirty T-Shirts

Dirty T-shirts spark happy endings

by Ty Pressley

If you’ve tried everything else, and just haven’t found your soul mate, The Houston Social Source (HSS) suggests you follow your nose to Houston for a night.

On Oct. 5, HSS presents its first Pheromone Party at Nouveau Art Bar. Here’s where it gets weird.

In order to participate, you must wear the same t-shirt to bed for three nights in a row. When you get up in the morning, seal the t-shirt in a bag and leave it in the freezer until you’re ready to go to bed again.

The night of the party, bring your seriously unsanitary shirt to the party for other participants to sniff as they unleash their animal instincts while they mix, mingle, and sniff.

The idea behind the party is that the pheromones absorbed in the dirty T-shirt can be sensed by an organ in the nasal passage that transmits a message to the brain. When you find the one, you’ll know. And then the two of you can go home and do your dirty laundry together. Check out their website to purchase a ticket if you're going to be in Houston.

Here’s to a happy ending.
