New Dallas Blog Has Looks, Smarts

He just moved from Austin to Dallas last summer, but you'd be surprised how much style reconnaissance Jim Duran can pack into a matter of months. Since hitting Big D, the fashion multi-tasker has penned articles for La Mode magazine, styled various private clients, and has worked behind the scenes at many A-list events.

Via his new blog, MyStyleDallas, Duran aims to share critiques and insights into the Dallas fashion world. After initial posts covering the Golden Globes and a luxury resale find, we're looking forward to more of his smart, refreshingly 'OMG'-free musings.

Read on for more details from the blogger himself:

The Feast DFW: You aren't new to blogging, correct?
Jim Duran: That's right. I started MyStyle-Austin in September of 2009. It appealed to a reader of a fashionable and more glamorous mind frame. I featured artists of all genres, from designers and sculptors to Beth Ditto.

What's your goal for this Dallas version?
I hope that MyStyleDallas becomes a platform for young, emerging talents to showcase their work, as well as showcasing the work of established artists that might still be unfamiliar to Dallas audiences. It also serves as a shopping and style guide, featuring finds from the city's top shops, from Neiman Marcus to Elements to Uptown Consignment.

Care to tease any upcoming posts?
My fashion week journal is going to be exciting. It isn't going to be a runway review. Instead, it will be more of a personal account of my friend Luis' experiences during fashion week. Hopefully, it will be everything people expect from the event, from models and celebrities to designer fashion and decadent parties.
