The Kimbell Art Museum has named a new director.
The museum said in a news release Friday that Eric McCauley Lee, director of the Taft Museum of Art in Cincinnati, will succeed Timothy Potts, who left in 2007 for the Fitzwilliam Museum in Great Britain.
When he assumes his post at the Kimbell this spring, Lee will become only the fourth director in the museum's history.
Lee, 42, is a native of North Carolina. He received his bachelor's, master's and doctorate in art history from Yale University. After he left Yale, he served for almost a decade as director of the University of Oklahoma's Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art.
He became the director of Cincinnati's Taft Museum of Art in January 2007.
