Wylie Police Shoot Armed Man While Responding to Domestic Disturbance Call

Police in Wylie shot an armed man while responding to a report of a domestic dispute Wednesday night.The man, who has not been publicly identified, was hospitalized. Police said he was in stable condition.Officers were called to the 1000 block of Rockton Drive, near McCreary and McMillen roads, around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. The call was about a domestic disturbance, said Officer Donald English, a spokesman for the Wylie Police department.Police encountered a man with a gun and shot him, English said. Citing the investigation, he declined to say whether the man had pointed his gun or fired at police. He also declined to say how many officers fired their weapons.The names of the officers involved have not been released.
