Woman Kidnapped in Mesquite Home Invasion Robbery, Police Say

A woman was kidnapped and taken hostage in a drug trafficking-related home invasion Sunday night in Mesquite, police said. Officers were dispatched about 9 p.m. to a home in the 2000 block of Norcross Drive, near South Peachtree Road, where a caller said three people had entered the house brandishing guns and demanding money. The caller said the three people fled, taking a woman in the house with them as a hostage, police said. Officers traced the woman to an apartment complex in Dallas where she was found unharmed. Police said the incident was related to drug trafficking and the general public is not in danger. A description of the three people suspected in the incident was not provided.
