What Collin County Cities Are Rated the Best for First-time Buyers?

Four Dallas suburbs have been ranked as some of the best places in the country from first-time homebuyers, according to a new report by WallettHub.comThe fast-growing cities of McKinney, Frisco and Allen were at the top of the list of best markets for first-time buyers, according to study.Richardson ranked seventh on the same list.WalletHub scored 30o U.S. cities for entry-level homebuying using factors include affordability, strength of the overall real estate market and quality of life.Allen was singled out for its low crime rate.The Dallas-area cities shared the top 10 with the likes of Cary, N.C.; Norman, Okla. and Lincoln, Neb.North Texas has one of the hottest housing markets in the country, with record home sales and the highest volume of new home starts in the country.But prices have also hit an all-time high, making it harder for first-time buyers.Compared to pricey East and West Coast markets, D-FW cities are still a bargain.  Continue reading...
