Water District Says Plano Water Safe After Environmental Activist Erin Brockovich Raises Questions

PLANO -- Officials with The North Texas Municipal Water District stood Tuesday night before Plano City Council members and assured them that the water flowing into its residents' homes to drink, cook and bathe with is safe. Thomas Kula, executive director of the water district, said the water it treats and delivers meets all federal and state drinking water act standards. He also said the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Region 6 confirmed the water district is in "full compliance with the standards." Plano Mayor Henry LaRosiliere said he also drinks and bathes in the city's water. "I drink the same water everyone else does," he said during the meeting. "And if there's a problem with our water, we'll fix it. If there's not, please hold your judgement and accusations until the facts come out."   Continue reading...
