The driver of a tractor-trailer died after losing control of the vehicle Tuesday evening and striking a concrete beam, Grand Prairie police said. The crash happened about 6:30 p.m. when the truck, which did not have a trailer attached, struck the beam in the express lanes of eastbound Interstate Highway 30 near MacArthur Boulevard, police said. The tractor-trailer caught fire, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver's identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
