The driver of a tractor-trailer died after losing control of the vehicle Tuesday evening and striking a concrete beam, Grand Prairie police said. The crash happened about 6:30 p.m. when the truck, which did not have a trailer attached, struck the beam in the express lanes of eastbound Interstate Highway 30 near MacArthur Boulevard, police said. The tractor-trailer caught fire, and the driver was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver's identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin. The main lanes of I-30 remained opened, but the express lane was closed while police investigated the crash. It is the second traffic fatality of the year in Grand Prairie. Continue reading...
