This Upscale Mexico City Department Store Hopes to Rival Harrods and Neiman Marcus

MEXICO CITY -- Despite shops with familiar names such as American Girl, Burberry, Coach and Tiffany, El Palacio de Hierro -- in the Mexican capital's prosperous Polanco neighborhood -- wants to make one thing exceedingly clear."We're not a mall," Carlos Salcido, the luxury department store's chief marketing officer, said emphatically.While seated on the store's expansive terrace drinking coffee, Salcido's words are occasionally drowned out by the drone of helicopters landing or taking off from two rooftop heliports.
