Texas A&M's First Openly Gay Student Body President Vows to Improve Diversity

Texas native Bobby Brooks felt free to be himself in Paris, where he studied abroad after high school. But when he moved to College Station for his freshman year at Texas A&M University, Brooks once again became silent part of his identity.One day, he took a French friend at Texas A&M out to coffee and told her what he had been hiding. "Je suis gay," Brooks said he told her in French.That was freshman year.
