Suspected Drunken Driver Charged in Crash That Killed 14-year-old on Thanksgiving

A man suspected of driving drunk is in custody after a wreck that killed a 14-year-old Euless girl on Thanksgiving.Jose Victor Chaparro-Saenz, 38, faces charges of manslaughter, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest, KDFW-TV (Channel 4) reports.Lake Worth authorities say Chaparro-Saenz ran a red light in the 5900 block of Azle Avenue, near Interstate 820, on Thursday and hit a car in which 14-year-old Rhyan Moody was a passenger.Rhyan, a student at Colleyville Heritage High School, was taken to Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, where she was pronounced dead just after 8:30 p.m.Two other people in the car were injured, KTVT-TV (Channel 11) reports.Chaparro-Saenz seemed intoxicated and was combative, officials said, and first responders found alcohol in his vehicle.Lake Worth police Chief Corry Blount told KDFW that Chaparro-Saenz refused to get out of his SUV.
