Smash-and-grab ATM Robbers Fail After Chain Breaks, Lead Police to Apartment Complex

Police located a truck that was used in an attempted smash-and-grab robbery of an ATM at a check cashing store Wednesday morning in West Dallas.The red truck reversed into the building with a chain hooked up to an ATM at a check cash services store about 2:45 a.m. in the 2100 block of Singleton Boulevard. The chain broke and the driver fled westbound on Singleton Boulevard and reportedly left his partner at the store.Officers found the damaged truck with the broken chain still attached less than a mile away at the King Bridge Crossing apartments.
