Sirens Blare as Glitch in Warning System Awakens Residents in Lancaster, DeSoto

Residents in Lancaster and DeSoto experienced an unwanted wakeup call Tuesday morning after a malfunction set off severe warning sirens in the area.The sirens sounded around 2:20 a.m. and didn't go silent sometime after 3, but unlike Saturday morning, there was no severe weather in the area."The Emergency Outdoor Warning Sirens have malfunctioned and are automatically sounding. We are currently working to address the concern, and will provide follow-up as quickly as possible," read a post on the city of Lancaster's NextDoor page.
