Shoplifting Suspect Tased After Striking Off-duty Officer at Cityplace Target, Dallas Police Say

An off-duty officer tased a shoplifting suspect who struck the officer in the face several times at the Cityplace Target Tuesday morning, police said. The off-duty officer initially confronted the suspect about 9:17 a.m. at the store in the 2400 block of North Haskell Avenue. Police responded to the scene about two minutes later. The suspect was taken into custody, Dallas police spokeswoman Debra Webb said.
