Robert Francis Sasseen is credited with rejuvenating the University of Dallas during his 14 years as president, from 1981 to 1995.Often described as shy and private, he oversaw a $20 million capital campaign that helped build several key facilities on the 700-acre Irving campus. He also secured a permanent home in Rome for the university's study-abroad program.Sasseen, 85, died June 14 at a Salem, Ore., hospital after a recent series of strokes.A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Salem.
