Police Wonder If Robbery of Woman in Cockrell Hill Could Be Linked to Crimes Targeting DISD Students

Cockrell Hill police are trying to figure out if the robbery of a woman returning home from work is related to a series of crimes against students in Oak Cliff.Lissa Ramirez told police a group of four men pointed a gun at her from a car and demanded her cellphone and other items on Monday night, according to KTVT-TV (Channel 11)."I was like, is this really happening in my head?" Ramirez told the station. She wore a backpack, she said, on her way to her Cockrell Hill home, which made her think the suspects might have thought she was a student."He kept on threatening he is going to shoot me and kill me about five times because he couldn't get the passcode [to her cellphone]," Ramirez told KTVT. "He grabbed my credit card, I told him the PIN and I thought they were going to let me go, but that's when the driver took my backpack."  Continue reading...
