Police Searching for Truck Suspected of Hitting 76-year-old on I-35 in Denton

Denton police are looking for a truck that they think first struck a 76-year-old man Saturday night.First responders were called about 11:30 p.m. to Interstate 35 near Westgate Drive, where the man had stopped on the right shoulder of the highway. He was outside his vehicle when he was hit by multiple other vehicles, police said. The man, whose identity has not been released, was flown to Medical City Plano, where he was stabilized but remained in critical condition Tuesday, police said. The driver of one vehicle that hit the man stayed at the scene, but police are searching for a truck they think hit the man first. The truck was described as a blue, newer-model half-ton Chevrolet pickup with four doors and stock rims. Police did not provide a detailed description of the driver. It was last seen exiting I-35 at Lone Oak Road in Cooke County several minutes after the incident.
